Rutgers Gardens

When the Rutgers Gardens began in 1916, it began as a purely functional learning space for local farmers. Over the past 100 years, the Gardens evolved to include many opportunities that can be enjoyed today, such as the farmers' market, festivals and fairs, youth programs, and educational opportunities.

Future plans include an increasing integration of academic teaching and research for departments with the community, such as Landscape Architecture, in order to improve the visitor experience. The master plan will bring cohesion to the Gardens and take visitors on a journey through time and nature (625k PDF).
